Zilker Gardens

Zilker Botanical Gardens

Leaving the Prehistoric garden.
The boys look onto the island in the prehistoric garden from both sides.

The boys loved this dinosaur in the childrens garden. They told me that I need to plant one in our yard!!

Zilker Dino Dig

We took the boys to the Zilker Park Dino Dig. It was the compromise for them going to the gardens with me. They enjoyed digging up dino bones but it was hot and they did not dig very long.

Yard visitors.

One night we were outside looking for Polly. When I walked out the back door, this guy walked in. I screamed, then the boys screamed, then Shane yelled at all of us for not helping the situation. After sending the boys out of the room and making me climb off of the chair to get him a large cup Shane caught this Tarantula and put him into the bug box. I am making him release it far from our house.

The tadpoles in the pond have finally become very small toads. We have found many of them hopping around the garden.

Congrats to Shane

Shane was recently promoted to Captain.

It took me forever to get the silly pin on his hat.

Major Beasley did the first part of his pinning.

In the yard.

Nate is my garden helper and was very excited to see this monster zucchini.
I am covering an area of the front yard with gravel. Nate and Quincy thought it would be fun to surf down before I got it shoveled.

Quincy has his own lawnmower. I bought him a used one that is self-propelled. I was very proud of him this day. He mowed for close to an hour and finished a large part of the front for me. He was very excited to get paid for doing it. Nate grabbed his mower too and decided to help him out.

Lunch at Grandma's house.

Lunch at my Mom's house is always fun. The babies provide lots of entertainment.
Callie (above) and Carlie (below) enjoy peas at Grandmas house.

James hangs out in the kitchen during lunch.

Amberly eats and plays at the table.

Twins Birthday

Nate enjoyed the little pool.
The "big kids" played with water guns.

We put the little ones in a little blow up pool. Carlie and Callie loved it. James was content to sit in the corner.

Carlie was not sure cake was worth getting dirty for but Callie did not care at all.

Jamie made cupcakes for the twins. I helped her lay them out and iced them for her to make them each a flower.

Boys at the Wine Fest

Win did a great job on this. The other kids in line were telling him that he was not big enough but he did great!!
Quincy loved doing this!!

The Austin Wine Fest this year was great. They had more for the kids to do while we enjoyed our wine tastings!
